William’s Blog: Saturday Night Music Club #28

The Academy Is... May3

William from The Academy Is… posted his weekly Saturday Night Music Club on a Sunday morning. Listen “1901″ by Phoenix after the cut.

SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #28

Phoenix - 1901

From their latest album playfully and appropriately named Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.   I’ve been a fan of the band for a few years now, as they consistently produce interesting and disturbingly unique albums.  From one of my favorite countries on the planet (FRANCE), every time I hear their albums simultaneous reactions occur; ONE, I miss Paris like hell, and TWO, I sit perplexed as to why this band isn’t gigantic in the states.  Then I remember what rock radio in the states DOES play on the radio, and content washes over me.  I’m fine with keeping this band to myself and my friends.  Yes, this means you.  Check out their previous albums United, Alphabetical, and It’s Never Been Like That if you enjoy this song.

For this week, I want to try something new and propose a groundbreaking inquiry… If, FOR SURVIVAL, you had to sing one song karaoke in a duet with me, what would it be? (Maybe something along the lines of ”You’re the One That I Want” from Grease…)

Enjoy your Sunday, and for God’s sake, please tell your mom to stop texting my dad.
