William from The Academy Is… posted his weekly Saturday Night Music Club on a Sunday morning. Listen “1901″ by Phoenix after the cut.
SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #28 Phoenix - 1901 From their latest album playfully and appropriately named Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Iâve been a fan of the band for a few years now, as they consistently produce interesting and disturbingly unique albums. From one of my favorite countries on the planet (FRANCE), every time I hear their albums simultaneous reactions occur; ONE, I miss Paris like hell, and TWO, I sit perplexed as to why this band isnât gigantic in the states. Then I remember what rock radio in the states DOES play on the radio, and content washes over me. Iâm fine with keeping this band to myself and my friends. Yes, this means you. Check out their previous albums United, Alphabetical, and Itâs Never Been Like That if you enjoy this song. For this week, I want to try something new and propose a groundbreaking inquiry⌠If, FOR SURVIVAL, you had to sing one song karaoke in a duet with me, what would it be? (Maybe something along the lines of âYouâre the One That I Wantâ from GreaseâŚ) Enjoy your Sunday, and for Godâs sake, please tell your mom to stop texting my dad.
